WordPress comments are a way for visitors to add feedback to your posts and pages. If you choose to enable comments for your posts, then a comment form will appear at the bottom of the posts and people can respond to what you have written.
By default, comments system required fill in name, email and website link (optional) like this one
In case, you don’t want to display the website field, you can use css to hide it or using this plugin . Or you feel that the default wordpress comment looks boring and stupid, you can replace with disqus comment system.
By default, wordpress saves all comments to waiting list and send you an email to inform about new comment. You need to go to comment management to see all currently comments on you website
You need to approve each comment to show it on you page. If you don’t want display it, you can check Spam or Trash.
In case you want your comment display immediately, you can go to Settings -> Discussion and uncheck Comment author must have a previously approved comment
Filter some “sensitive” words
Suppose, you don’t want some of dirty words appear on your blog, you can use the Comment Blacklist in Settings -> Discussion to filter it
However, this default feature is not good, I recommend you using Comment Filter .
Avatar in comment
WordPress only supports us display avatar from http://gravatar.com. It means if you don’t have any account at gravatar, it will use the default avatar. If you want your own avatar, go to Gravatar homaepage, create new account or login with WordPress.com, add email you need avatar and upload it from your computer.
Prevent Spam
Spam wordpress comments are really a disaster, you cannot check all the spam comments by yourselves, it wastes time. A plugin will do it for you.
Install the Akismet plugin and config it, all spammers will be blown away.
